Colorado Springs, Colo. (September 16, 2021)—Applications to represent the United States at the 2022 World Flying Disc Federation (WFDF) World Junior Ultimate Championships (WJUC) are now open.

The tournament is scheduled for August 6-13 in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic. The biennial event, which last occurred in 2018 after the COVID-19 pandemic forced the cancellation of the 2020 edition, features the nation’s top ultimate players under the age of 20 in both men’s and women’s divisions.

USA Ultimate members interested in trying out for the U.S. National Team should review the application procedures, timelines and eligibility criteria and complete the online application by Friday, November 5th.

Following the application period, up to 100 athletes per division will be invited to attend one of two tryouts this winter.

In 2022, the men’s team will be led by head coach Reid Koss and assistants Andy Nielsen and Cody Mills. Tulsa Douglas and Christie Lawry will also serve as selection assistants.

The women’s squad will be helmed by head coach DeAnna Ball and assistant coaches Jason Adams and Manisha Daryani. Amelia Cuarenta and Elizabeth Jones are the team’s selection assistants.

USA Ultimate has also made available a recommendation form for anyone interested in recommending a player for consideration. Teammates, coaches, organizers and others in the ultimate community are encouraged to reach out and suggest athletes. Recommendations are due Friday, October 29.
