Colorado Springs, Colo. (May 7, 2024)—USA Ultimate announced today the hiring of Josh Murphy to the position of Manager of Competition and National Team Programs in the youth department. Murphy’s appointment marks his return to USA Ultimate after serving as the organization’s Director of Member Services and Sport Development from 2015 to 2020 – a position he was promoted to following his initial hiring in February of 2014 as USA Ultimate’s Manager of Membership and Sport Development.
Since departing the organization full-time four years ago, Murphy has remained in service to USA Ultimate, most recently providing part-time assistance as a project manager and data analyst in 2022.
Murphy first came to USA Ultimate from Triangle Ultimate where he served as Executive Program Director and Treasurer from 2009 to 2013.
Aside from his experience in the ultimate industry, Murphy last worked as a Senior Business Analyst and Manager of Financial Services IT Systems at MIL Corporation, a service provider specializing in cyber, engineering, financial and information technology services for the federal government.

In his new role at USA Ultimate, Murphy will be responsible for the continued growth and development of the national governing body’s youth competition structures, as well as event direction and management. He will also oversee and manage the U-20 U.S. National Team.
