Member Levels

Get all the details about USA Ultimate’s different membership levels.

Memberships are non-refundable, non-transferable and do not guarantee participation in competition. Annual memberships are good through December 31 of the corresponding expiration year.

*As of December 1, 2021, USA Ultimate no longer has coach, coach and player, or friends and family memberships. Coach qualifications and certifications can be added on to any other membership type, including the new non-player membership level. Anyone with a multi-year coach, coach and player or friends and family membership that expires after December 31, 2021, has been rolled over to the appropriate adult player or non-player membership. Existing coach qualifications are still reflected in all member accounts.  

Youth memberships are available for players who are

• Under 20 years of age, and
• Have not yet graduated from high school.

Youth members are eligible to compete in any USA Ultimate sanctioned events throughout the year, including high school state championships.

Youth intro memberships, designed for those who have never had a USA Ultimate membership, are available from mid-August to mid-November for $20. Intro memberships also expire on December 31.

Fall + Next Year Too memberships are available starting in mid-September for $54 and expire December 31, 2022.

College memberships are available for players who

• Have graduated from high school, or
• Are 20+ years of age.

College members are eligible to compete in any USA Ultimate sanctioned events throughout the year.

College intro memberships, designed for those who have never had a USA Ultimate membership, are available from mid-August to mid-November for $32. Intro memberships also expire on December 31.

Fall + Next Year Too memberships are available starting in mid-September for $79 and expire December 31, 2022.

Adult memberships are available for players who

• Have graduated from high school, or
• Are 20+ years of age.

Adult members are eligible to compete in any USA Ultimate sanctioned events throughout the year.

Adult intro memberships, designed for those who have never had a USA Ultimate membership, are available from mid-August to mid-November for $32. Intro memberships also expire on December 31.

Fall + Next Year Too memberships are available starting in mid-September for $79 and expire December 31, 2022.

Coach memberships are available for anyone who is 18 or older and completes all the coach requirements.

Coach Requirements:

• NCSI green-light background check
• SafeSport certification
• CDC concussion training
• Watch USA Ultimate coach education videos
• Pass USA Ultimate’s coach education test

Coach memberships are a non-player memberships and do not allow for individuals to compete in events. Coach & Player memberships combine the benefits of coach memberships and youth, college or adult memberships, allowing individuals to compete in events.

Coach members also have access to the Team USA Mobile Coach app. Just register your account at mobilecoach.teamusa.org, then download the free app.

Fall + Next Year Too memberships are available starting in mid-September for $59 and expire December 31, 2022.

Affiliate memberships are available for youth and adult players who participate in local, recreational events run by USA Ultimate affiliate organizations.

Affiliate memberships do not allow for participation in USA Ultimate championship events, including:

• College or club regular-season events
• College or club postseason, series events
• High school state championships

Recreational event memberships only apply to single, local sanctioned or insured standalone recreational events that are run by an independent local organizer.

Recreational event membership can be purchased once a player has been added to a sanctioned recreational event roster.

Youth recreational event memberships are available for players who have not graduated from high school and are under 20 years of age.

Anyone can become a non-player member and get access to discounts, USA Ultimate programs and more benefits of membership!

Non-player memberships are perfect for anyone who wants to be a coach, a chaperone or a supporter of the sport. Non-player memberships do not allow for participation in USA Ultimate-sanctioned competitions.

Lifetime memberships are available for everyone! Lifetime members can compete in all USA Ultimate sanctioned and championship events, can become a coach, have access to all member programs and discounts and more.
