Colorado Springs, Colo. (February 11, 2026) – USA Ultimate is seeking applications for assistant coaches for the mixed, open and women’s Under-24 (U-24) National Teams. These positions will join returning coaches Patrick Sherlock (mixed), Bob Krier (open) and Gwen Ambler (women) for the 2027 WFDF World Under-24 Ultimate Championships.
Sherlock returns after leading Team USA to a second consecutive gold medal at the 2025 U-24 World Championships last summer. In a repeat from the 2023 event, the team once again went undefeated finishing 9-0. A veteran of USA Ultimate’s National Team program, Sherlock served on the coaching staff as an assistant in 2019, helping guide Team USA to a gold medal in the mixed division at U-24 Worlds. Sherlock was named USA Ultimate’s College Coach of the Year in 2019 and coached Philadelphia AMP to a pair of club national titles in the mixed division in 2018 and 2019.
Returning for his seventh consecutive appointment as head coach for the open division, Krier has led Team USA to six straight world titles at U-24 events. Over more than a decade of coaching, Krier has amassed an unblemished 57-0 record while leading the National Team to victory in 2013, 2015, 2018, 2019, 2023 and 2025.
Hall of Fame member and returning coach Ambler was first appointed head coach for the 2025 women’s U-24 National Team, and served as an assistant coach for Team USA at the 2024 WFDF World Ultimate Championships in Australia. Last summer Ambler led the women’s division team on a 9-0 undefeated run to take gold at U-24 Worlds.
Applications are currently being accepted for both assistant coaches and selection assistants to join these elite coaches for all U-24 teams, with an application deadline of March 2, 2026.
