Top U.S. Teams Head to Word Club Championships

Colorado Springs, Colo. (August 13, 2026) – Nine top U.S. club teams are headed to Ireland this week to compete in the upcoming WFDF World Ultimate Club Championships (WUCC). An eight-day event starting August 15, WUCC features 136 club teams from 38 countries and offers three competition divisions — mixed, open and women’s. The U.S. teams’ qualification for the event was determined by finishing placement in the 2025 National Championships last October, with the top three teams in each division claiming bids.

At the last WUCC event — held in 2022 in Cincinnati, Ohio — U.S. teams medalled in every division. Seattle Mixtape claimed gold in the mixed division, open division teams New York PoNY and Raleigh Ring of Fire took gold and silver respectively, and in the women’s division San Francisco Fury took silver and Raleigh Phoenix claimed bronze. This year’s teams also look positioned to place well, with all nine qualifiers seeded among the top ten in their respective divisions.

In the mixed division, defending national champion — and recent winner of the U.S. Open — Ann Arbor Hybrid is the top seed, with New York XIST seeded sixth and Fort Collins shame. seventh, out of the 48 teams in the division.

U.S. teams San Fancisco Revolver (1) and Chicago Machine (2) sit in the top two spots in the open division, with New York PoNY seeded seventh in another 48 team division. Like Hybrid, Revolver is the 2025 National Championship winner and coming off an exciting U.S. Open win.

The women’s division national championship team Boston Brute Squad is seeded second, behind the Columbian team Medellín Macana, which features a roster with names familiar to anyone who follows the USA Ultimate club scene. San Francisco Fury is seeded just below Brute Squad at third, with U.S. Open winner Washington Scandal also near the top of the 40 team division at seventh.
