Tournament Director Certification Program

Hosting a top-notch ultimate tournament is no small undertaking. Luckily USA Ultimate’s TDCP provides organizers and tournament directors with the education and tools necessary to run a safe, high-quality and fun tournament for athletes and fans. The program includes access to a comprehensive manual chock full of valuable guidance and best practices from the sport’s top experts.

Certification is required for the following individuals:

• All state youth competition coordinators
• All tournament directors for all USA Ultimate-sanctioned events

Certification is free for many, including:

• All state youth competition coordinators
• All high school state championship tournament directors
• All USA Ultimate championship series tournament directors
• Tournament directors of sanctioned events run by a USA Ultimate affiliate or state-based organization.

For others, the initial cost of certification is $33. Certification is good for two years. Recertification is $16.

1. Log into your USA Ultimate online account and confirm your membership is current.
2. Complete your free SafeSport training.
3. Register for the applicable course: certification or recertification.
4. Details to access the online exam and materials will be emailed to you.
5. You have two weeks to begin the exam and 24 hours to complete it once you begin.
6. Pass the exam with a score of at least 80%
7. Once you pass, your certification will appear in your online member account.
