Colorado Springs, Colo. (February 8, 2021)—USA Ultimate recently added several new volunteers to its club division ranks, including three player-elected athlete representatives and a new mixed division national director.

A.J. Merriman (Watchdogs), Sara Meckstroth (Drag’n Thurst) and Clare Frantz (Wicked) all ran unopposed and will serve three-year terms as athlete reps on USA Ultimate’s Club Working Group. These individuals represent teams and athletes playing in the club division and serve as a collective voice for players by providing ideas and feedback to USA Ultimate. A total of six athlete reps (two per gender division) sit on the working group and serve staggered terms. The newly elected reps join Chris Novielli, Madison Olesen and Amber Sinicrope on the 2021 club working group.

Additionally, Genevieve Leo was named USA Ultimate’s Mixed National Director – a high-level volunteer position that works closely with USA Ultimate staff and club division teams on the day-to-day management of competition-related matters.

“As the new national mixed director joining during a time our country faces two pandemics, COVID-19 and systemic racism, I would love to be someone that grows the organization appropriately through these challenges,” commented Leo. “I hope to be a division director who is organized, passionate and vocal, but above all, can listen and turn feedback and strategy of the community into action.”

Leo joins Adam Goff (men) and Kate Wilson (women) as USA Ultimate’s National Directors.

The three national directors, six player-elected athlete reps and USA Ultimate staff together serve on the club working group.
