Colorado Springs, Colo. (June 29, 2023)—USA Ultimate announced today the appointment of Martin Aguilera (Atlanta, Ga.) as head coach of the mixed team that will represent the United States at the 2024 WFDF World Junior Ultimate Championships (WJUC) next summer. Aguilera joins the previously announced Reid Koss (open) and DeAnna Ball (women) as head coaches for Team USA.

The appointment of Aguilera marks the return of the three-time world champion coach to the U.S. National Team program. Previously, Aguilera served as the head coach of the U-24 mixed squads that won gold in 2013, 2015 and 2018, posting a perfect 29-0 record along the way.

Next summer also marks the first time USA Ultimate will field a mixed team at WJUC after the division was first introduced last year in Poland.

Following the addition of Aguilera to the coaching staff, USA Ultimate is now accepting applications for assistants across all U-20 divisions. Open positions include two assistant coaches and two selection assistants per team. Interested coaches must apply via the link below by July 17. (Applicants may preview the application here.)

Dates and locations for the 2024 WFDF World Junior Ultimate Championships have not yet been determined, however the tournament is expected to take place next July or August.
