This manual is provided to guide tournament directors in creating an efficient and enjoyable tournament experience for all participants.

This manual is being supplemented and partially replaced by a Formats Guide, which should be used as the starting point for sectionals and regionals. Formats that have 5 games per day or 8 games in a weekend have been replaced with alternatives. The Formats Guide directs organizers to use existing formats or specific alternatives, which are outlined in detail. The two documents will be used in tandem until a more comprehensive revision is complete.
